Ray Jones is the Executive Director and founder of SEMSAR. He has approximately 22 years of experience in the realm of emergency medicine and public safety. He is a certified and licensed paramedic, police officer, and firefighter. He has served his country for over 14 years as a member of the United States Navy, both active duty and reserve, in the capacity of a combat medic (corpsman). He is highly experienced in small unit tactics and force-on-force operations. He is a graduate of Naval Hospital Corps School, Field Medical Service School, and Fleet Hospital Operations School. He also has the distinction of being one of only a handful of people nationwide to be certified as both an Advanced Tactical Medic and Critical Care Paramedic, and holds credentials as a Certified Anti-Terrorism Specialist (CAS) through ATAB, and is certified in Homeland Security through the American College of Forensic Examiners (CHS-III). He is highly experienced in Search and Rescue and Wilderness Medicine, is a graduate of the National Search and Rescue school, and is a dedicated Martial Artist. Ray is an experienced educator, and holds several instructor level certifications in EMS, Police, and Fire Sciences, and serves in the capacity of adjunct faculty for the Metropolitan Community Colleges EMS Sciences program. He is a licensed and ordained Christian Minister, and holds a Bachelors of Arts in Biblical Studies. He is currently working on his masters in education, as well as a masters in Special Operations Warfare, and is a published author, having recently contributed three chapters to the new "Emergency Care in the Streets" paramedic text. He is currently working on an environmental medicine chapter for a critical care text, and hopes to soon publish a full textbook on tactical and disaster medicine. Ray currently serves as the only full-time member of SEMSAR. He recently accepted a part-time position as Chief of Police for Creighton, MO, and is once again building a police department from the ground up. He has worked professionally as the Deputy Chief of Fire for Prairie Township in Lee's Summit, MO, and has also worked as a paramedic-firefighter and served as director of EMS education for the South Metro Fire Protection District. He also serves as the Chief Tactical Paramedic for the Cass County Sheriff's Department SWAT Team, is the former Chief of Police of the Garden City and Freeman Missouri Police Departments, and holds credentials as a Kansas City Metro Squad member. He currently volunteers as the Deputy Chief of Police for Garden City, MO. He has also served as Chief of Fire for the Inner-City Fire District in Jackson county Missouri.
Ray is married to a beautiful and Godly woman, Beth, who is a Christian writer and speaker,and has three beautiful daughters, the oldest two of which are married and has added two grand-daughters to the mix, with a grandson expected. He has traveled extensively, and has been to Israel, Jordan, Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy, Mexico, Central America, Canada, and the Carribean, as well as most of the Continental United States.

Ray was knighted in 2001 by the Sovereign Military Order of Christian Knights Templar, one of the last surviving truly Christian Orders of knighthood in the world. He serves the Order in the capacity of Chaplain General of the United States, and has been awarded the Order's "Award of Merit." Among other honors, Ray has been given several awards for meritorious service, been awarded both "Firefighter of the Year" and "Police Officer of the Year", and is listed in Cambridges Who's Who in Executives and CEOs for 2007.
